A small app for a large year.
Cradle is made in the Netherlands by a small team of parents and engineers who wanted one thing: a baby app that is quiet at night, honest about the Dutch system, and paid for once.
Who it's for
- Expecting parents in the Netherlands — from the first verloskundige appointment through the 20-week scan, kraamzorg and the birth.
- Households, not users — partners, grandparents and the kraamverzorgende each get their own account and see the same baby.
- Expats and internationals — the whole Dutch care and admin timeline explained in English, with the Dutch term kept so you recognise it at the balie.
- Dutch families — everything in Nederlands too, with the same sources your consultatiebureau uses.
What we believe
Calm is a feature
No streaks to protect, no badges, no "you're behind". The app should lower the heart rate, not raise it.
Honest about evidence
Development is windows, never dates. If your baby doesn't match, your baby is right.
Data belongs to the family
No ads, no analytics, EU servers, one-tap export, one-tap erasure.
One small price later, and a share given away
Free while we test. When the extras do get a price it will be a single small payment, and 20% of it goes to charities for mothers in need — you choose which.
How it's built
Deliberately simple: a small server, a single database, a web app that installs to your home screen. No app-store cut, no third-party SDKs, no data leaving the EU. Everything the app knows about the Dutch schedule is written down in plain text you can read, sourced to RIVM, JGZ, thuisarts.nl, the KNOV and Voedingscentrum, and dated.
